Function
This vacancy concerns a position as dispatcher (Control Room Operator) working day shifts (morning and afternoon shifts) at the regional dispatching center.
In this role, you will mainly carry out the following tasks:
You will prepare and coordinate switching operations as outlined in the planned switching schedule to ensure the operation is handled safely and the installation is delivered in the state requested by either Elia maintenance personnel or the grid user.
You will prepare and coordinate the commissioning and decommissioning of installations.
You will contribute to keeping the necessary operational documents (basic switching notes, operating notes, etc.) up to date.
You will also participate in improving the operational processes of the dispatching department. If necessary, you will support or substitute for a colleague in the full shift and monitor the grid. In this context, you will have the following responsibilities:
Ensuring that the voltage quality of the grid expected by our customers is continuously maintained.
Managing alarms and anomalies on the grid and in the systems.Performing the necessary control calculations.
Handling incidents and communicating about these incidents.
To achieve these goals, you will follow an intensive training program over several months, allowing you to gradually acquire the necessary competencies to take on the various tasks.
Initially, you will prepare the planned switching operations and submit them for validation to all relevant parties. You will also actively contribute to keeping operational documents up to date, which are necessary for the efficient operation of the Regional Control Center (RCC).
At the same time, you will participate in training to eventually lead switching operations independently.In addition, a training program within dispatching will be provided and tailored to your experience, so that you can obtain the necessary qualifications to ensure the operation of the high-voltage grid.
Once you have obtained the required certifications, knowledge, and competencies, you can strengthen the team for day shifts. Over time, a transition to full shift work is possible.

Your Profile
Your profile as Control Room Operator High Voltage Network:
A diploma in a relevant technical field (electricity, electromechanics, etc.) or equivalent through experience.
Experience with switching-authorized networks is an advantage, but not a requirement.
Basic knowledge of electrical grids, protections, and alarms.
Knowledge of electrical installations (high voltage, medium voltage, etc.).
Good communication skills and stress resistance.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Eagerness to learn and willingness to further develop yourself.
