Labcorp is seeking an onsite Laboratory Instrumentation Technician to join our brand new CMC facility and team in Mechelen, Belgium.

Job Responsibilities

Coordinate all equipment maintenance, calibration, qualification, installation and retirement activities with internal teams (Operations, Facilities Management) and external vendors.

Ensure all service providers meet GMP compliance requirements, including approved supplier status and appropriate documentation.

Act as the equipment subject matter expert (SME) and primary point of contact for technical questions, investigations, and study‑specific support.

Manage equipment downtime by maintaining and controlling “Do Not Use” tags and ensuring timely resolution of issues.

Lead or contribute to GMP quality activities, including deviations, CAPAs, change controls, and audit responses related to equipment.

Review technical and compliance documents from concept, including IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, SOPs, policies, and risk assessments.

Approve technical and vendor documentation completed by other associates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GMP requirements.

Support procurement by obtaining quotes, liaising with approved suppliers, and submitting purchase requests (POs/ePro).

Contribute to internal improvement initiatives by supporting projects designed to enhance business efficiency and streamline processes.

Complete, update, and maintain all equipment‑related GMP documentation, including SOPs, training records, qualification documents, MSRs, SARFs, URS, and validation records.

Ensure accurate creation and closure of Total Management System (TMS) forms and equipment work orders.

Maintain clear and compliant records of equipment failures, changes, and investigations in line with GMP standards.

Produce high‑quality written documentation that meets internal SOPs and regulatory expectations for equipment lifecycle management.

Ensure all equipment activities are performed in compliance with site health & safety policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

Escort and monitor vendors onsite to ensure adherence to safety procedures during maintenance and qualification work.

Promote safe working practices when installing, operating, or troubleshooting equipment, raising hazards or risks where identified.
Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
6 months are more experience in GMP environment
1 or more years of experience in equipment management and calibration
1 or more years of experience in HPLC, UPLC, ICE/Maurice, PA8000+
Additional Job Standards
Computing skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Office packages and Microsoft Project).
An in-depth understanding of health and safety policies, company policies and procedures, a working knowledge of ISO (accreditation and application) and an in depth understanding of GMP
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, as well as external clients, suppliers, etc.
Knowledge and practice of general health & safety, including personal protective equipment.
Proficient in Dutch and English
This position holds on-call responsibilities
In the role as Laboratory Instrumentation Technician, you ensure GMP‑compliant management of all CMC equipment, including documentation, qualification, maintenance coordination, and vendor oversight. You act as primary equipment management team contact, supporting BioPharmCMC teams and ensuring adherence to all applicable GMP requirements and internal SOPs.
You are responsible for executing and maintaining equipment‑related quality records (e.g., deviations, change controls, CAPAs) and reviewing technical documents such as SOPs and qualification protocols.
You support operations by managing the equipment fleet as per the System Lifecycle (SLC) process. From onboarding new equipment, ongoing maintenance and retirements.
