Euroclear is expanding its enterprise event streaming capabilities and is building a corporate Kafka-based Event Streaming Service. We are looking for a senior Kafka engineer who can combine solution design, hands-on engineering, and operational expertise to help shape, evaluate, and enable this strategic platform.
The role sits within Euroclear’s Group Technology Services division, in the Communication and Integration Services (CIS) squad. In this position, you will help design, assess, and enable the target event streaming platform, working closely with engineering teams, enterprise architecture, and key stakeholders across the organisation. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Evaluate and compare implementation options for the enterprise event streaming service, including platform, deployment, and operating model choices.
- Work with Enterprise Architecture to define, analyse, and document event-driven architecture patterns and target solution designs.
- Define the governance, standards, and guardrails required for a secure, scalable, and sustainable platform enablement.
- Design, implement, and evolve Confluent services in both on-premises and cloud environments to support platform capabilities, technical standards, and adoption.
- Define how Kafka-based services and associated components are integrated into CI/CD pipelines and engineering practices.
- Operate the Euroclear Kafka platform across on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring reliability, availability, security, and operational continuity.
- Support the CIS squad and delivery teams in the enablement, onboarding, and operational adoption of the event streaming platform.

Technical skills and experience
The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise across the Kafka ecosystem, including:
- Strong practical expertise with Apache Kafka and its core ecosystem.
- Experience with Confluent Platform and related services in enterprise environments.
- A balanced background spanning platform engineering, solution design, and operational support for both producers/consumers and runtime environments.
- You are comfortable working with Kafka solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, and you understand the operational, security, and integration considerations that come with each model.
