e are seeking a highly motivated fiber technology engineer to join our team at SII Belgium. The Fiber Technology Engineer will be responsible for designing, installing, testing, and maintaining fiber optic networks and devices. You would join various teams working in Agile mode for projects in the Telecom sector.

ey Responsibilities:

mproving the fiber configuration and examining how different technologies can be upgraded or optimized. Having a good understanding of PON technology is a strong advantage.
stablishing, maintaining and updating design standards to support the growth of the network and the products delivered with their failover solutions and agreed service levels.
reating technical documentation to help the construction and maintenance teams, as well as their external partners such as training documentation, installation guidelines and measurement procedures.
ontinually improve the materials used for building and maintaining activities.
ollowing new developments and investigating how innovation can create an impact.
ffer support to different units within the organization, and our partners. This involves providing help on design, consultation and help on installation of materials, direction on conducting quality assessments. The “train the trainer” approach is often used here.
et up and improve regular reporting related to network infrastructure. Familiarity with inventory and GIS tools is a benefit

ualifications:

ou keep an up to date knowledge on fiber.
hile having leadership, you manage to stay attentive to the opinions and point of views of your colleagues.
ou are able to efficiently write and review complex documentation in English.
ou are interested in details, but you don’t lose sight of the big picture.
ou keep looking for new ideas and ways to introduce innovation.
ou are fluent in English. Dutch and/or French is an asset.

ou have significant experience in the telecommunications sector, with broad fiber, design and construction knowledge.
ou are familiar with QGIS and/or AutoCAD is an added value.
