As an insurance company, the accuracy of our regulatory reporting is of instrumental importance. We are seeking a technically strong financial or data analyst with strong SQL expertise to take the lead in supporting and further developing our custom-built regulatory calculation engine.
You will operate at the intersection of data, technology and insurance processes, ensuring that our calculation engine is robust, efficient and aligned with business needs. While knowledge of IFRS17 is considered an asset, it is not required.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the regulatory calculation engine and underlying data processes function correctly and efficiently. In this role, you act as the bridge between business teams and developers, translating requirements into scalable data and SQL-based solutions. You will be the primary point of contact for the calculation engine, working closely with the Chief Data Officer and regulatory reporting teams to improve and evolve the solution.
Your Responsibilities:
-
You act as a bridge between business teams (risk management and accounting) and technical teams. You combine knowledge of insurance or regulatory processes with strong SQL and data processing expertise, ensuring efficient and reliable data flows and calculations.
-
You translate business and regulatory requirements into clear functional and technical designs, with a strong focus on SQL-based data transformations and calculations. You actively contribute to the development and optimisation of the calculation engine.
-
You act as a quality gate, overseeing data quality and consistency across the calculation processes, ensuring accurate and complete reporting outputs.
-
You stay up to date with relevant insurance and regulatory developments and assess their potential impact on the solution. You propose and implement necessary adjustments where required.
-
You help maintain comprehensive documentation of reporting processes, methodologies and calculations, ensuring transparency and auditability.
- You have at least 5 years of relevant experience as a data analyst, developer or business analyst in a data-intensive environment, preferably within insurance, banking or financial services.
-
You have very strong SQL skills and proven experience in developing and optimising complex queries and data transformations.
-
You have experience working with data processing and calculation engines or similar systems.
-
Knowledge of IFRS17 or regulatory reporting is considered an asset, but not a requirement.
-
Experience with R or Python is a plus.
-
You are a conceptual thinker who can quickly grasp the bigger picture and understand how solutions fit into a broader framework.
-
You have a solution-oriented mindset and strong communication skills, enabling you to interact effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
-
You are organised, detail-oriented and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- An interesting permanent position in a stable, multilingual and international environment.
-
Learning opportunities to continue to develop your skills and expertise.
-
A salary corresponding to your profile and experience, supplemented by hospitalisation and ambulatory care insurance, pension insurance, FlexReward plan and other fringe benefits.
-
A hybrid working arrangement (three days of teleworking) that offers flexibility and a good work-life balance.
-
A role in a company where the following values are key: respect, customer intimacy and reliability.
