About The Role
The Shift Leader in automotive logistics oversees day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of automotive parts and components, as well as managing waste flows and repacking activities.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Shift Leader provides leadership to his team of Teamleaders and by extent all operators within those teams. He needs to ensure that operational targets are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities
§ Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of Teamleaders to achieve daily operational goals.
§ Monitor & take actions on the daily & weekly planning of employees per department.
§ Collaborate with the Teamleaders to align team activities with business objectives.
§ Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
§ Monitor and address operational issues, escalating significant concerns to the Operations Manager.
§ Identify skills gaps and collaborate with the Operations manager to provide additional training or support.
§ Track team performance metrics such as productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.
§ Communicate improvements or possible performance updates and challenges to the Operations Manager.
§ Prepare reports and operational summaries as needed.
§ Address minor and major operational challenges and implement solutions to maintain workflow.
§ Escalate complex issues or significant disruptions to the Operations Manager with recommendations for resolution.
§ Act according to responsibilities within the legal hierarchical structure and follow all legally required training courses accordingly.
§ Committed to being polyvalent, by acting as back-up for other departments, as well as getting operationally involved when it’s required by the situation.
About You
§ A bachelor's degree or equivalent through experience.
§ At least 3 years of leadership experience, preferably within a logistics environment.
§ Strongly developed leadership and communication skills: you persuade, inspire, and motivate.
§ Leadership combined with a results-driven mindset and strong organizational skills.
§ Hands-on mentality and creativity in solving problems and unforeseen situations.
§ Strong awareness of safety and environmental standards.
§ Proficient PC skills (Office 365).
§ Good knowledge of English; additional languages (especially Dutch) are a plus.
§ Candidates must be available to work in a shift schedule (early and late shifts) and be willing to occasionally work on Saturdays.
