Function

Elia is looking for a technician for the Substations North department who will mainly focus on GIS and AIS activities .

The technician role includes a wide range of tasks. As an electromechanics/electricity technician, you will work on high-voltage equipment in our substations. The Substations North department is involved in the following activities:

Commissioning, maintenance, and specialised work on GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) installations, including organising and monitoring specific tasks with external contractors.
Maintenance of AIS (Air Insulated Switchgear) installations equipped with older-generation circuit breakers.
Specific work on transformers, such as the revision/upgrade of On Load Tap Changers, audits of existing transformers, performing electrical measurements on transformers (preventively or curatively after an incident), and supervising and monitoring transformer-related work by external contractors (repairs, oil treatments, retrofits, decommissioning, etc.)

Substations North operates installations spread around the service centers in Merksem, Stalen, Schaarbeek-Noord, Lendelede, and Lochristi. We aim to deploy our teams in either the Antwerp-Limburg-Flemish Brabant region or the West and East Flanders region. For this vacancy, we are looking for someone to work in the West and East Flanders region.

Your Profile

Safety is an absolute priority for you!
You hold a bachelor’s degree or a higher technical education diploma with a specialization in electricity or electromechanics, or you have equivalent experience.
You have at least 4 years of practical experience in fieldwork. Knowledge of high-voltage equipment is an asset.
You have a strong sense of responsibility.
You are a team player.
You are stress-resistant and flexible.
You are comfortable working with digital tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
You hold a category C driving license or are willing to obtain one.
You are willing to travel within the northern part of the country and will mainly be active in the West and East Flanders region.
