SuReal is a fast-growing international consultancy with offices in Brussels and Milan, advising private and public organizations on sustainable buildings and cities. We focus on quantifiable sustainability solutions, cutting through greenwashing to drive real impact. We are hiring a Sustainable Materials Lead to guide and manage our growing ‘circular economy’ expert team and optimize services towards clients.
What You’ll Do
- Support the team with your expertise in LCA and circular economy, and help implement circular solutions for both new construction and renovation projects
- Manage projects by guiding clients through complex material choices, from sourcing and manufacturing to technical specifications, implementation, and environmental impact — reducing carbon emissions and overall environmental footprint of a project
- Coordinate and oversee projects in the portfolio and the overall team planning: follow up on deadlines, budget, ensure quality, and keep clients satisfied.
- Guide the team and set KPIs to measure and improve performance. Perform weekly 121 check-ins to follow up on content, planning and how people are doing. Prepare and assist in yearly evaluations together with the Business Unit Lead
- Optimise the internal workflow of the materials team and our services through continuous improvement
- Stay ahead of the market: maintain a broad and up-to-date knowledge of sustainable and biobased building materials available on the market and apply these to your projects
You report to the Business Unit Lead Experts.
What You Bring
- Background as an architect in a sustainability-focused firm with site and construction experience, and familiarity with Technical Specifications and circular alternatives — or an engineer-architect with strong interest in LCA and sustainable materials. You have at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Sharp organisational and leadership skills: you coordinate, plan and prioritize with ease, and know how to motivate and enthuse your team, through clear communication and genuine engagement with people.
- You take ownership and deliver clear, well-structured reports
- Strong Dutch language skills; fluent written and spoken English
