We are looking for KYC/AML analysts to join missions within Belgian financial institutions — banks and insurers facing BNB/FSMA audit pressure, growing remediation backlogs, and the countdown to AMLR enforcement in July 2027.
The demand is structural, not cyclical. Every regulated institution in Belgium and Luxembourg must overhaul its KYC operations before the AMLR deadline. We have recurring needs from clients in Brussels and are looking for consultants who can hit the ground running.
What the work looks like day to day:
You open files. You analyse them. You close them — at volume, under pressure, without cutting corners.
Specifically:
— Reviewing, updating and remediating KYC files for individuals and legal entities: UBO identification, ownership structure analysis, source of wealth and source of fundsdocumentation
— Conducting enhanced due diligence (EDD) on high-risk segments: PEPs, non-residents, complex holding structures, trust arrangements, crypto-related accounts
— Running sanctions screening and adverse media checks using World-Check, Actimize, ComplyAdvantage, Fircosoft, or Dow Jones — documenting every decision with full audit trail
— Analysing basic financial statements (balance sheets, P&L) to flag inconsistencies between declared activity, revenue patterns, and transaction behaviour
— Reporting progress against remediation KPIs to the KYC Lead, Compliance Manager, or LOD2 oversight
— Challenging existing workflows when inefficiencies are spotted — clients value consultants who bring a fresh perspective, not just file throughput
Regulatory context: AMLR (Regulation 2024/1624) applies directly from July 2027. AMLD6 transposition by July 2027. Centralised UBO registers from July 2026. The compliance staffing pressure on LOD1 teams across Belgium is at a structural high.
Mission parameters:
— Duration: 3 to 12 months, renewable
— Location: Brussels, hybrid (2–3 days on-site)
— Rate: €400–€700/day depending on experience, certifications, and languages
— Start: ASAP — ongoing intake
1–5 years of hands-on KYC/AML operational experience in a bank, insurer, payment institution, or compliance consultancy — file-level work, not advisory or policy writing
Working knowledge of AMLD4/5/6, AMLR (upcoming), FATF Recommendations, Belgian AML framework (BNB supervision, CTIF-CFI reporting, FSMA conduct rules)
Practical experience with at least one screening platform: World-Check, NICE Actimize, Fircosoft, ComplyAdvantage, or Dow Jones Risk & Compliance
Certifications strongly valued: ACAMS (CAMS), Certified KYC Associate (ICA), ICA Certificate in AML, Sanctions & Embargos
