Make your mark for patients
We are looking for a MSAT Lab Scientist who is curious, detail-oriented, and collaborative to join our team in Bio Manufacturing Sciences & Technology (MSAT), based at our UCB campus located in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.
About the role
You will join a dynamic MSAT laboratory supporting commercial biologics manufacturing. You will design and execute downstream processing (DSP) experiments, analyze scientific data, and contribute to process optimization and technology transfers. You are going to play a key role in ensuring robust, compliant, and efficient manufacturing processes while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Who you will work with
You will work closely with MSAT scientists, manufacturing teams, quality, and development experts. You are going to collaborate across functions to support ongoing production, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives, while building strong relationships in a highly scientific and regulated environment.
What you will do

You will design and execute DSP laboratory experiments to support process validation and technology transfers.

You will analyze data from lab and manufacturing scale to generate clear scientific insights.

You will provide DSP expertise to internal stakeholders and support investigations or deviations.

You will manage and optimize small-scale models to represent manufacturing processes.

You will support routine manufacturing campaigns through lab experiments and analytics.

You will ensure compliant documentation and contribute to lab operations, SOPs, and continuous improvement.
Interested? For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills:

Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Hands-on DSP expertise within a biopharma or biotechnology environment.

Ability to clearly present scientific data in cross-functional settings.

Strong skills in writing technical protocols, reports, and compliant records.

Profound experience in JMP.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Fluency in English with a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
