Take the lead of a full HVAC department and steer strategy, projects and results in an industrial environment. You work with Vandewalle (Equans) and turn strategy, teams and projects into concrete and sustainable outcomes in Flanders West (Jabbeke). - define and translate the business strategy and vision for your department in line with the Group strategy
- organise the department’s operations with a strong focus on HSEQ standards across projects and teams
- stimulate collaboration across departments, divisions and entities around tenders and projects
- contribute to the development of commercial activities and business development
- take part in negotiations for major contracts together with key stakeholders
- coordinate the commercial activities of your department
- work closely with technical teams on solutions for tenders and project delivery
- monitor commercial, financial and operational targets and adjust where needed
- translate actions from business reviews into concrete results for your department
- support sustainable profitability in the short and long term
- guide and support teams in project management, tendering, engineering, sales, service and support
- collaborate closely with central departments such as Finance, HR, Logistics, Procurement and Legal
- ensure alignment within teams and coordinate HR-related activities within your department
- work with HR on mid- and long-term strategy regarding skills, workforce structure and recruitment
- ensure continuity and improvement of processes and encourage collaboration
- master’s degree in engineering; electromechanics or HVAC is a plus
- experience in the construction sector and in a project-driven environment with attention to HSEQ
- familiarity with contract management and risk management
- experience managing larger teams and taking on a leadership role
- experience with EPC projects is a plus
- knowledge of public sector markets (e.g. Belgium, France) is a plus
- knowledge of maintenance activities is a plus
- strong business insight with attention to clients and commercial opportunities
- knowledge of financial follow-up and experience with P&L responsibility
- interest in energy efficiency and innovative solutions within the energy transition
- ability to collaborate smoothly across departments and entities
- clear, connecting communication style with a coaching approach
- proactive mindset and goal-oriented way of working
- good knowledge of Dutch and English; basic knowledge of French is a plus
