Experience: 5+ years in CMF, industrial design, or related fields
As CMF Designer at Loop, you define how our products look, feel, and connect with users. You translate trends, materials, and brand direction into CMF strategies that strengthen product identity and create meaningful, tactile experiences at scale.
You define and execute CMF strategies aligned with product direction, brand identity, and manufacturing reality. You translate insights and trends into clear CMF concepts and ensure they are carried through from early exploration to mass production.
You collaborate closely with Industrial and UX Designers, Engineering, Sourcing, and Quality to ensure CMF intent is technically feasible and consistently executed. Materials, finishes, and colour decisions are validated against manufacturing constraints, supplier capabilities, and quality standards.
You build and maintain CMF guidelines across product categories, ensuring consistency while enabling innovation. Strategic balances between aesthetics, performance, cost, and manufacturability are translated into clear stories and design decisions.
What you’ll do
Define and execute CMF strategies across product lines
Translate trends and insights into relevant product CMF directions
Develop concepts through mood boards, samples, and prototypes
Ensure CMF designs are production-ready in collaboration with engineering and suppliers
Drive innovation in materials, finishes, and technologies
Create and maintain CMF guidelines for internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate closely with Product, Industrial Design, UX, Engineering, and suppliers
Support research and insights to inform CMF decisions
You won’t
Treat CMF as surface styling disconnected from product performance
Ignore manufacturing constraints or supplier capabilities
Rely on trends without translating them into relevant product applications
You are deeply curious about materials and how they shape product perception. You understand how CMF decisions impact manufacturing, quality, and brand expression.
You move fluidly between concept and execution, knowing when to explore broadly and when to refine towards production-ready solutions. You bring clarity to CMF decisions and communicate ideas effectively through visuals, samples, and storytelling.
You’re a collaborative team player who takes initiative and stays engaged when things shift around you. Cross-functional teams rely on your judgment to balance aesthetics, feasibility, and consistency across the product portfolio.
5+ years of experience in CMF, industrial design, or related fields
A strong portfolio showcasing CMF-driven product work
Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and finishing techniques
Experience working across the full product development cycle
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners
Proficiency in KeyShot, Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), and AI + presentation tools
Experience with 3D software (SolidWorks, Creo, Onshape and/or Rhino) is a plus
Ability to translate design direction into clear CMF stories and decisions
A hands-on working style — you think through samples, prototypes, and materials, not just decks.
See CMF as purely aesthetic rather than part of product performance and experience
Avoid close collaboration with engineering, sourcing, or manufacturing
Struggle to translate trends into production-ready solutions
Great. CMF at Loop is where material innovation meets product experience. If you’re ready to shape how products look, feel, and scale, we’d love to hear from you.
