A strong player such as the Jan De Nul Group also requires a powerful internal audit and compliance department. The department guarantees the preparation and implementation of the internal audit plan in the entire group and provides independent and objective assurance and advice. It also plays a key role in shaping, implementing, and strengthening Jan De Nul Group’s compliance (business ethics) program.
Your Role
In coordination with the Internal Audit & Compliance team, you will support:
Internal Audit:

Give support in developing the audit planning, the audit scope, and the risk management.

Execute defined audit assignments and work towards clear audit objectives.

Properly document the audit approach and ensure clarity, accuracy, and completeness.

Gather sufficient and appropriate evidence to support audit findings and conclusions.

Act as an advisor to mitigate risk or unlock opportunities.

Draft audit reports and formulate audit findings and recommendations.

Report the audit conclusions to different departments and function levels within the organization.

Collaborate with different people to set-up a satisfactory action plan.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of actions and provide the necessary feedback.

Gain understanding of the organization’s operations, governance structure and its risk and compliance management.
Compliance:

Support the structuring and implementation of Jan De Nul Group’s compliance program.

Drafting/updating internal compliance policies and procedures.

Stay up to date with regulatory business ethics developments and assess their impact on the organization.

Assist in delivering compliance training and awareness initiatives.

Investigate potential compliance breaches and support remediation actions.

Advise on compliance-related questions from business activities, including during tender phase.

Conduct risk assessments and control reviews, including the screening of counterparties from a compliance perspective.
What do you need to have?
You have a Master’s Degree in Finance or Business Administration with 2 to 5 years of experience within audit (internal or external) or compliance. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English. You are willing to travel sporadically and work from our office in Luxembourg for several days per month. You are a team player with a strong ability to manage time and set priorities. Strong analytical skills, a critical mindset, pragmatic and problem-solving abilities are key.
