WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
EU Institutions: SharePoint Developer
For our client based in Brussels, we are looking for SharePoint Developer.
As part of its knowledge management strategy, unit BUDG.D5 within the European Commission, created in 2021 a corporate online portal ‘BUDGpedia’ to provide instant access to comprehensive, detailed and up-to-date news and guidance on budget and finance for staff in the Commission and its executive agencies, other EU institutions and bodies, traditional EU agencies and joint undertakings.
In the context of the European Commission’s ongoing transition to the M365 environment and the phasing out of SharePoint on-premise by the end of 2024, unit BUDG.D5 plans to migrate BUDGpedia to SharePoint Online or an equivalent technology.
To support it in this task, the unit is seeking a SharePoint developer.
YOUR TASKS
- Advice on the SharePoint Online technology (the choice of the SPO site template, organisation of content into sites and libraries, navigation, webparts, permissions and access strategy, metadata, term store and search engine optimisation, etc.);
- Conceptual design, creation, configuration, customisation, testing and deployment of the platform in SharePoint Online;
- Migration of content from SharePoint on-premise to SharePoint Online (pages, libraries, lists);
- Administration, maintenance and optimisation of the platform after the migration, including creation and management of accesses and permissions, navigation, pages, webparts, libraries, lists, metadata, term store and SEO,
- App integration and developing custom web parts
- Management of technical incidents related to the platform: troubleshooting and resolving SharePoint Online issues or malfunctions;
- User support and user training;
- Drawing up technical documentation, user guides, statistical data and analytical reports for the platform;
- Participation in project meetings
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:
- at least 3 years of experience with SharePoint in roles such as SharePoint architect, analyst, developer or administrator;
- extensive experience with SharePoint Online, including:
- requirements gathering, analysis and conceptual design,
- configuration and customisation of SharePoint Online sites, including the use of SharePoint Object Model programming (custom list features, document libraries, web parts and workflows),
- testing and deployment,
- user training and user support;
- experience with custom Power Apps solutions is an asset.
The following knowledge and skills are required for the performance of the tasks:
- At least 5 years of extensive experience with Microsoft technologies and content sharing IT solutions;
- Fluency in English (understanding, speaking, reading and writing);
- working knowledge of French is an asset;
- Strong aptitude to analyse and understand business logics and processes and to translate them into software applications;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Strong communication and presentation skills;
- Proactive and self-starter attitude;
- Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment;
- Experience of working in project teams.
EXTRA INFORMATION
- The services shall be performed remotely in Near-site location within the EU territory only allowing to reach the Commission premises in Brussels-Belgium within 2 hours by ground transportation
