We are looking for a Global HVAC & Black Utilities Expert who is innovative, collaborative, and technically experienced to join our Engineering & Sites and Facilities team, based at our UCB campus located in Braine-l’Alleud, Walloon Brabant, Belgium.
About the role
As our Global HVAC & Black Utilities Expert, you will be the global reference for HVAC and Black Utilities across UCB. You will define technical strategies and engineering standards, support major CAPEX projects, and help shape the future of our manufacturing and research facilities worldwide. You will combine deep technical expertise with innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence to ensure robust, compliant, and future-ready utility systems across the UCB network.
Who you will work with
You will be part of the Physical Asset Management – Asset Technical Standards & Expertise team and report to the Technical Guidance Lead. You will collaborate closely with Engineering Leads, project teams, site utilities experts, facility managers, and external partners worldwide. You will also lead and connect a global network of HVAC and utilities specialists, continuously sharing expertise and best practices across UCB.
What you will do

You will define and deploy global HVAC & Black Utilities strategies and technical standards.
- You will provide expert support for feasibility studies, concept designs, and CAPEX projects.
- You will ensure compliance with cGMP, EHS, safety, and sustainability requirements.
- You will perform HVAC analyses, thermal balances, and utilities assessments for critical projects.
- You will mentor engineering teams and build technical capabilities across the global network.
- You will identify innovations and promote digital solutions throughout the utilities lifecycle.
Interested?
For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills:

Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Extensive HVAC and industrial utilities expertise within regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments.
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid systems, automation, piping, and utility networks.
- Experience with cGMP compliance, qualification, validation, and risk management methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects and influence multidisciplinary stakeholders globally.
- Professional proficiency in English and French, both written and spoken.
