As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you sit at the intersection of engineering and customer impact. Where our product engineers build the core of the platform, you're the one who gets it working at the customer: you join pilots and implementations, map out the customer's data and processes, and build the integrations, configurations, and features needed to solve their specific procurement or finance problem yourself. You work closely with Solutions Consultants and the core engineering team, and you're the shortest path between "what the customer actually needs" and "what's running in production."
Join pilots and implementations at enterprise customers (mainly CPG and Food & Beverage), building the integrations (on-site or remote) that connect their ERP, SAP, or Coupa data to the Cost Engine.
Translate the messy, often incomplete reality of customer data and processes into working configurations, scripts, and features — iterate fast, validate with the customer immediately.
Spot patterns across customers and turn one-off fixes into reusable capabilities you hand back to the core product team.
Be the technical point of contact for the customer during rollouts: debug, adjust, and explain what's happening and why.
Proven experience as a software engineer, with production code in Python and/or TypeScript (our stack is Python + FastAPI and Next.js + TypeScript + React).
Experience integrating enterprise data sources (ERP systems, SAP, Coupa, APIs, file-based exchanges) or the drive and ability to pick that up fast.
Just as comfortable in a customer conversation as in a pull request: you can think alongside a customer, ask questions, and present, without needing a consultant in the room.
Strong at turning ambiguous, incomplete requirements into something that works and stays maintainable.
High sense of ownership: you don't wait to be assigned a task, you see the problem and solve it.
Willing to travel occasionally for customer visits.
You are fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch is not required.
Candidates must already have an unrestricted right to work in Belgium/EU at the time of application. We are unfortunately not able to sponsor a work permit (single permit) or visa for this role.
Domain knowledge in procurement, supply chain, commodity trading, or finance.
Prior experience in a forward deployed, solutions engineering, or technical consulting role at an enterprise B2B SaaS company.
Comfort with data analysis (SQL, analytical Python) and with forecasting or decision-support systems.
Interest in AI-driven products and how to responsibly roll them out at enterprise customers.
