eCarsTrade operates a digital platform for the b2b resale of ex-lease cars. We have customers across Europe, and via our proprietary platform we sell a combination of our own stock and on consignment, via auctions and fixed prices.

We have a serious track record of profitable growth: 60% y-o-y for the last 3 y. To replace a departing colleague, we are looking for an accounting supervisor.

Are you an energetic, disciplined, digital native looking for a disruptive challenge? Do you have experience leveraging statutory and analytical accounting to make an impact on the business? Can you lead an end-to-end international accounting department. Then we’re looking for you!

Job requirements

5-7years of experience of which
- 1-3 years of hands-on general ledger accounting experience, includingmonth-end close with VAT declarations
- 1-3 years ofanalytical accounting/ controlling / performance management
- 1-3 years ofteam-lead or supervisory experience leading a team of accountants
- Hands-ongroup consolidation accounting is a plus
Strong affinity withinventory management and inventory accounting is a plus
Knowledge of Belgian GAAP and main tax (VAT, corporate taxation)and payroll principles
ProficiencywithOdoo andExact online(including data import & export),analyticalskillsin Exceland familiarity with Tableau are big pluses– in general IT-savvy
Excellent English languages skills, plusproficiencyin either Dutch or French

Profile

Much more important than your education is your attitude and your ability to learn. AMaster’sdegree will get you through the door, but so will a bachelor’s degree with some experience – neither is better than the other
Willingness todive into the details, understandthe nuts and boltswith the team, redesign and improve bottom-up.
Ability to structurally break down problems, set up analyses and draw conclusions that have a meaningful impact
Eager to learn, balancing pragmatism with structural solutions: able to strike a balance between quick & dirty fixes that capture low-hanging fruit and long-term solutions that create structural value

Job responsibilities

You’llbe the CFO’s right hand, building out the finance organization of a fast-growing business
You’llbe the key link between theinternal accounting team,tax advisors,auditorsand the finance team,together safeguarding the quality of statutory financial statements
You’llsuperviseoperational accounting processes: accounts payable & receivable (incl. booking & matching), batch paymentstimelymonth-end+ year-endclosing(incl. accruals whereappropriate)
You will ensuretimelysubmission of tax and statutory returns, including VAT, corporate income tax, Intrastat, IC listing, etc.
You’lluse your understanding ofaccounting operations toimprove efficiencyby automatingwherever possible. You’lltake aleading role in administeringthe accountingfor ourbranchesabroad,includingconsolidatedreporting.
While automatingthe accounting process,you’llcollaborate on enhancing the analytical accounting process, including budgeting,forecastingand activity-based costing
You’lltake an active part in migrating to a new accounting system
