1. General accounting and closing
- Maintain and review the general ledger throughout the full accounting cycle, from A to Z.
- Process complex accounting transactions and supplier invoices requiring specific analysis.
- Record and document provisions, prepaid expenses, accrued income, accruals and adjusting entries.
- Record de payroll document and reconcile all the accruals related to the salaries.
- Analyse, reconcile and substantiate balance sheet and profit-and-loss accounts, and follow up on outstanding items.
- Play an active role in monthly and annual closings, in line with the Group timetable and procedures.
- Prepare the annual accounts and contribute to the filing formalities with the National Bank of Belgium (NBB).
2.Reporting,controlsand analysis
- Prepare the financial analyses, reconciliations and control schedules required to monitor the business.
- Check the consistency of expense accounts, monthly entries and data from operational systems.
- Identify discrepancies and anomalies, analyse their causes and propose appropriate corrective actions.
- Contribute to the implementation, documentation and monitoring of accounting and internal control procedures.
3. Tax and regulatory obligations
- Prepare and review VAT returns, Intrastat declarations and EC Sales Lists.
- Prepare corporate income tax files in coordination with tax advisers.
- Complete statistical surveys and ensure compliance with other applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
- Ensure that accounting and tax treatments comply with current Belgian legislation.
4. Fixed assets
- Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure the correct accounting treatment of asset acquisitions, transfers and disposals.
- Review depreciation, revaluations and other fixed-asset movements.
5.Audit and stakeholder relations
- Prepare closing files and supporting documentation for internal and external auditors.
- Respond to audit requests, follow up on open points and contribute to implementing recommendations.
- Provide management, subsidiaries and partner functions with accurate, reliable and well-documented accounting information.
6.Systemsand master data administration
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, controls and data flows between AMOS and SAP.
7.Support and coordination
- Provide technical support to members of the accounting team and share best practices.
- Work cross-functionally with Controlling, Procurement, Logistics, Legal and other relevant functions.
- Participate in projects to optimise, harmonise and automate finance processes.
- Higher education qualification in accounting, finance or business administration, or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of experience in general accounting, with full command of the end-to-end accounting cycle, ideally in an international environment.
- Proven experience in closing, audit, reporting and Belgian tax obligations.
- Excellent command of SAP & Excel (MS Office)
- Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting standards (Belgian GAAP)(IFRS) and Belgian taxation, particularly VAT and corporate income tax.
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written Dutch and English, French is a plus.
- Analytical thinking, sound judgement and a solution-oriented approach.
- Clear communication and the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
