Scope of Position:
Context:
The candidate will join the Global Physical Asset Management / Asset Technology & Standards organization as a Global Electricity Expert. The candidate will act as the global technical reference for electricity across international engineering projects, supporting sites and projects in Belgium, Switzerland, the United States, and other locations. The position focuses on defining and maintaining global electrical standards, supporting CAPEX projects, ensuring alignment with safety, sustainability, and engineering best practices, and contributing to the ongoing development of electrical strategies and standards across the organization.

The candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary global team of technical experts covering areas such as automation, process engineering, infrastructure, laboratories, cybersecurity, and electrical engineering. The electrical domain is supported by a small group of specialists with complementary expertise, including local electrical support and physical asset security expertise.
The role requires extensive collaboration with engineering teams, project teams, design offices, and internal and external subject matter experts worldwide.
Day to day:

Act as the global electrical subject matter expert for low and medium voltage systems.

Define, develop, maintain, and monitor global electrical engineering standards.

Support global engineering CAPEX projects from feasibility studies through conceptual design phases.

Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to project teams and engineering partners worldwide.

Review and ensure compliance with cGxP, EHS, company procedures, and good engineering practices.

Contribute to electrical safety initiatives and support physical asset protection programs.

Support NIS2 and ISO 27001 related activities regarding physical asset security and OT environments.

Collaborate with engineering design firms and project stakeholders, particularly on major U.S. projects.

Develop and maintain a global network of internal and external electrical experts.

Identify industry trends, benchmark practices, and innovation opportunities.

Promote digitalization initiatives within the electrical engineering discipline.

Participate in the development of competency matrices and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Experience & Skills:
Years of experience in the position / total:

Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering (proven senior-level expertise acting as a technical reference or subject matter expert).
Must have:

Experience supporting large and complex engineering projects in international environments.

Experience coordinating and influencing stakeholders across multiple functions and locations.

Strong expertise in low and medium voltage electrical systems and power distribution.

Ability to serve as a technical reference for engineering teams, design offices, and project stakeholders.

Experience developing technical standards, engineering guidelines, and best practices.

Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, equipment, control systems, instrumentation, and power distribution.

Experience supporting engineering projects from feasibility and conceptual design phases onward.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.

Experience working in complex international project environments.

Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
