As an IT Associate QA Tester, your mission is to test the applications developed within speos to ensure the quality, stability and performance of the software. You design and execute test plans and test scenarios in accordance with the department’s procedures and standards, identify and report defects, and document the results. You work closely with the Scrum teams to ensure the reliability and performance of the delivered solutions and verify that they meet functional, technical and security requirements.
As an IT Associate QA Tester, your responsibilities include:
- Analysing functional and technical specifications and confirming the testing objectives with the Scrum team, Product Owners and Project Managers in order to understand the requirements and design relevant and comprehensive test plans and scenarios.
- Designing and documenting test plans and test scenarios (test cases) that meet the requirements and are adapted to different types of applications, including web, desktop and API applications, in order to effectively test the completed developments.
- Executing test scenarios according to the defined plans and performing functional, regression, integration and security tests to ensure the quality of the developed software, products and components.
- Testing APIs independently of the front-end using Postman or similar tools, including defining payloads and endpoints and validating JSON responses.
- Testing web interfaces and desktop applications, with a good understanding of browser behaviour, technical sessions and navigation rules.
- Performing injection tests in form fields to verify compliance with security standards.
- Performing reliability and performance tests and implementing alert mechanisms to detect performance or behavioural anomalies, ensuring the robustness and reliability of the developed software, products and components.
- Identifying and documenting defects or incidents (ICT and ISO) and taking the necessary action to ensure their resolution.
- Analysing alert, warning and error messages to ensure that they are consistent with the expectations of the Service Delivery team.
- Preparing and archiving comprehensive and relevant test reports in order to close the different testing phases.
- Actively participating in sprint meetings and sharing your knowledge and expertise to continuously improve the quality of testing and the quality of products and applications, both before and after they are released into production.
As an IT Associate QA Tester, you bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in IT with at least two to three years of experience in software testing, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Experience in an Agile environment where testing is an integral part of the development cycle and involves daily collaboration with developers.
- Good knowledge of software testing methods, ideally based on the ISTQB framework.
- Experience with Jira and Postman, as well as an understanding of APIs, JSON responses and databases such as MongoDB, DB2 or Oracle.
- Initial experience with GitLab CI/CD and a strong interest in test automation are considered assets.
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy, critical thinking and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as a genuine team spirit.
- Technological curiosity and a willingness to continuously develop your skills.
- A good command of French and English. Knowledge of Dutch is considered an asset.
