The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of raw materials and components required for production while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing costs. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, procurement, production planning, and logistics teams to maintain an efficient and uninterrupted supply chain.
How you'll make an impact:
Material Planning & Inventory Management
Develop and execute material planning strategies based on production schedules and demand forecasts
Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock while avoiding shortages or excess
Maintain accurate master data (lead times, safety stock, MOQ, etc.) in ERP systems
Track material consumption and adjust plans accordingly
Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials
Monitor supplier performance (OTIF, lead time adherence, quality issues)
Follow up on late deliveries and proactively mitigate supply risks
Align material availability with production plans to avoid downtime
Communicate material shortages or risks to production and planning teams
Analyze inventory trends, shortages, and excess stock
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimization
Qualifications:
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
Strong Excel/data analysis skills
Knowledge of MRP/ERP planning concepts
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities
Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset
Bachelor degree is a plus
Languages: Dutch, English, French
100% on site (only occasionally work from home)
