Your team and your responsibilities:
Team/division description:
The role sits within the IT & Digital (IT&D) organisation, supporting Sales & Value Chain systems. The team plays a key role in shaping and governing the digital architecture that underpins Toyota’s European Sales & Value Chain transformation, operating across multiple markets and stakeholders.
Job purpose:
The Solution Architect Digital & E‑commerce acts as a key interface between business, IT delivery teams, operations teams and suppliers, translating business needs into sustainable digital solutions.
In addition to architecture and governance responsibilities, the role also requires a pragmatic and hands-on approach during critical incidents or major quality/security issues, supporting root-cause analysis, solution validation and coordination with Core IT and operational teams to restore service stability and protect customer experience.
Key responsibilities:
Digital & E‑commerce Solution Architecture

Define and maintain end‑to‑end solution architectures for digital platforms and e‑commerce solutions (e.g. customer‑facing applications, sales portals, digital services) with a strong emphasis on data quality and data flows.

Design architectures that support online sales journeys, customer experience, performance, scalability and availability.

Ensure solutions are aligned with enterprise digital platforms, cloud strategies and integration standards.

Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security, privacy and compliance standards.
Business & IT Alignment
-
Act as a trusted architectural partner for Digital & E‑commerce stakeholders.

Translate business requirements into clear, realistic and future‑proof digital solution designs.

Challenge requirements constructively to ensure optimal customer experience, performance and maintainability.
System Integration & Data Quality

Define and govern integrations between e‑commerce platforms, backend systems, APIs and data layers.

Ensure data quality, consistency and traceability across digital and sales systems.

Assess and manage end‑to‑end impacts of changes across digital channels, data and downstream systems.
-
Validate corrective actions and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into architecture, integration and operational improvements.
Architecture Governance & Collaboration
- Close collaboration with Enterprise architecture team and ensure alignment with capability mapping.
- Lead and participate in solution architecture reviews and alignment forums for digital and e‑commerce initiatives.

Ensure architectural continuity from concept and design through to implementation and operation

Document architecture designs, decisions, risks and technical trade‑offs.

Provide architectural oversight during build, integration, testing and deployment.

Support resolution of complex issues impacting digital performance, security or integration.
Your Profile:
- You are fluent in English (TME business language)

Master’s degree or equivalent experience in IT, Engineering or a related field

You have minimum 5 years of experience as Solution Architect
-
Solid understanding of System integration patterns, Data models, data flows and data quality concepts, as well as enterprise applications typically used in digital and ecommerce ecosystems

Ability to balance business pragmatism and architectural discipline.
- Experience working in complex, multi stakeholder enterprise environments.

Strong experience in end‑to‑end, data‑centric solution architecture, including integration and interface design.
- Experience with architectural documentation and modelling tools (e.g. Bizzdesign).

Strong analytical and structured thinking

Excellent stakeholder communication, able to explain complex topics in simple terms

Constructive challenger mindset (solution‑oriented, not academic)

Reliable, consistent, and detail‑oriented in follow‑up and governance
