What does an assistant divisional controller & business analyst do at the Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk? In this dual-perspective role within the Airtec division, you combine divisional financial controlling with hands-on business analytics. You take ownership of core reporting, analysis, and planning cycles alongside divisional business controllers, while developing interactive dashboards and ad-hoc insights for senior management and product company controllers worldwide.
Your daily flow includes supporting monthly closing, consolidation, and reporting packs for divisional management and the Business Board. You take full ownership of P&L analyses, including cost/margin control, overhead variance, cost bridges, and gross profit follow-up across product companies. To sharpen your operational understanding, you spend part of your time supporting our local product company in Antwerp/Wilrijk. Additionally, you coordinate global planning cycles (budgets and annual plans), act as a sparring partner for local controllers to enforce "The Way We Do Things" Group guidelines, and drive digitalization by replacing manual spreadsheets with Power BI models, automated data flows, and AI/Copilot integrations. You will work via our hybrid model at our site in Wilrijk.

Master's degree in Economics, Finance, or an equivalent field with a few years of experience in controlling, accounting, or audit (preferably in an industrial environment); candidates with strong data/analytics backgrounds and developing controlling experience are equally welcome
Solid understanding of group reporting and industrial cost accounting (standard cost, absorption, variance analysis, margin bridges)
Advanced data capabilities, including high proficiency in Excel and hands-on Power BI data modeling; experience with Tableau, SQL, Python, or Group reporting systems (GPS) is an asset
Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Copilot, and AI tools in reporting, backed by a critical mindset to audit source data accuracy
High integrity, analytical curiosity, and effective communication skills to explain financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders
Excellent command of English (spoken and written); knowledge of Dutch or prior experience within Atlas Copco is considered a plus
