Telenet is a leading telco going all-in on cloud-first transformation, and we're looking for product-minded cloud engineers who can build useful software end to end on hyperscalers and share our passion for Generative AI. In other words, people who move comfortably from an idea and application code to delivery, operations and continuous improvement.
As part of the GenAI Cluster, you design, build and run the product stack behind Telenet's Generative AI experiences. That spans application services, APIs and integrations as well as the cloud capabilities they depend on. All so that our teams can turn emerging AI technology into reliable products with real impact.
Your mission as a Cloud Engineer GenAI
As a Cloud Engineer GenAI you build and operate Generative AI products on AWS. From application code and APIs to delivery pipelines, cloud services and observability. You are a pragmatic generalist who can take a simple solution from concept to production and who stays accountable for its reliability, security, performance and cost once it is live.
What you will do
- Build GenAI products end to end. Turn product needs into maintainable services, APIs and user-facing capabilities, primarily in Python, and run them on fit-for-purpose AWS services such as Bedrock, ECS, Fargate and Lambda.
- Engineer for reliability. Define service levels and useful telemetry, design for failure and recovery, and take part in operational ownership through alerting, incident response, runbooks and blameless learning.
- Ship safely and often. Build automated tests, CI/CD and infrastructure-ascode that make application and model changes easy to review, deploy, observe and roll back.
- Create AI-native capabilities. Build agentic workflows, retrieval services, evaluations and guardrails using LLM tool calling, MCP, A2A, RAG and the rapidly evolving AI ecosystem.
- Connect the whole stack. Integrate models, data sources and business systems; debug across application, network, cloud and data boundaries when reality does not match the diagram.
- Keep products secure and sustainable. Apply sound identity, secrets, privacy and network controls, while balancing latency, quality, resilience and cost.
- Explore what is next. Follow new AI capabilities with curiosity, prototype where they could create value and help the team turn the strongest ideas into dependable production features.
Your profile as a Cloud Engineer GenAI
Must-haves
- Solid experience building and operating production applications end to end, ideally on AWS or GCP.
- Strong programming skills in Python and Terraform, with sound knowledge of API design, automated testing, debugging and maintainable software design.
- Practical experience with cloud services, containers and infrastructure-as code, plus the judgement to choose the simplest suitable solution.
- A reliability mindset backed by operational practice: meaningful monitoring, alerting, incident handling, root-cause analysis and continuousimprovement.
- Experience with CI/CD and the automation needed to release application and infrastructure changes confidently.
- Solid grounding in networking, security, identity (IAM), secrets management and cost-aware engineering.
- A generalist mindset: willing to work across code, cloud, data and operations instead of stopping at one technical boundary
Nice-to-haves (GenAI focus)
- Experience building with LLMs, agentic patterns, tool calling, MCP and A2A.
- Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, Langfuse or comparable fast evolving AI tooling.
- Exposure to AWS Bedrock and/or SageMaker, vector databases embeddings, evaluations and guardrails.
Who you are
- Product-minded and accountable: you care about the user problem, the code and the way the product behaves in production.
- A curious generalist who enjoys learning unfamiliar parts of a system and making sensible trade-offs.
- Genuinely excited by the speed of AI development and eager to help Telenet make the most of this wave responsibly.
- A collaborative team player who shares ownership, gives and receives feedback, and helps others grow.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent through experience.
