We are looking for someone with a broad interest in Supply Chain, with a particular focus on optimising the company’s procurement activities.
Previous experience is not a requirement. In fact, we are looking for someone with an open mind and a broad perspective, who is eager to learn and motivated to develop themselves across the many different aspects of Supply Chain. Curiosity, analytical thinking and the drive to make a difference are more important to us than a specific number of years of experience.
The ideal candidate is motivated by identifying opportunities to reduce costs while improving the efficiency and sustainability of our procurement processes. This includes sourcing raw materials and semi-finished products more efficiently, while at the same time reducing our environmental impact.
The role involves a significant amount of data analysis, such as monitoring spending trends by product category and supplier. It also requires closely following macroeconomic trends and market developments to identify opportunities for building strategic stock in anticipation of price increases, as well as opportunities to renegotiate prices and purchasing conditions.
Another important aspect of the role is identifying alternative materials, suppliers and solutions that can reduce costs while improving our environmental footprint — for example, replacing plastic packaging with paper-based alternatives.
In addition to raw materials and semi-finished products, the position covers the procurement of services and capital goods. For these purchases, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analyses are an important part of the decision-making process.
The role also has strong interfaces with inventory management, warehouse operations and production. A broader interest in these areas is therefore definitely key. Moreover, we see this as an opportunity for someone who wants to grow into a versatile Supply Chain professional, gaining experience across different disciplines rather than focusing on procurement alone.
As is typical in an SME environment, we are looking for someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get things done when needed. You should be willing to take on administrative tasks when necessary, but at the same time, you should see these tasks as opportunities to streamline and automate processes as quickly as possible. We strongly believe that highly skilled people should not spend their time on repetitive administrative work, except when required as a backup.
