Aquarist Team Leader

Today, we are looking for an exceptional person to strengthen our Zoological Department.

Your responsibilities:

Team management and coordination: You lead and motivate a team of aquarists, ensuring their training, professional development, and well-being.
Animal welfare: You ensure that all animals under your responsibility live in an environment that meets the highest standards of welfare and safety.
Care and feeding management: You monitor feeding plans, ensure medical follow-up of animals in collaboration with the veterinary team, and guarantee compliance with care protocols.
Operational supervision: You ensure the smooth organisation of daily tasks, the maintenance of facilities, and compliance with hygiene and safety rules.
Continuous improvement: You actively contribute ideas to optimise procedures, improve habitat arrangements, and enhance animal welfare.
Collaboration and representation: You work closely with other departments (Communication, Human Resources, Zoological Management) and represent Pairi Daiza at international events.

Candidate profile:

Experience and education: You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role and hold a degree in aquariology or an equivalent qualification.
Animal expertise: You have excellent knowledge of the animals under your care and are familiar with care and safety protocols.
Management skills: You are a recognised leader, able to manage a team, plan activities, and handle administrative follow-up with accuracy and efficiency.
Team development: You know how to delegate effectively and support your colleagues in their professional growth.
Continuous improvement mindset: You are eager to innovate and optimise existing practices.
Handling complex situations: You remain calm, responsive, and proactive when facing daily challenges.
Organisation and solution-oriented approach: Your structured and methodical way of working allows you to organise tasks efficiently.
Languages: You have a good command of French. Dutch and/or English would be an advantage.
