For one of our clients, a major organization active in the energy sector, we are looking for a Monitoring and Linux System Engineer to strengthen the infrastructure operations team.
The consultant will provide advanced operational support for Linux-based environments, with a strong focus on monitoring, observability, system reliability and automation. The role combines hands-on Linux administration, incident resolution, monitoring improvement, infrastructure automation and participation in standby/on-call duties.
As a Monitoring and Linux System Engineer, you will ensure the stability, availability and performance of Linux-based IT infrastructure in a large-scale enterprise environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing advanced operational support for Linux-based infrastructure.
- Monitoring system health, performance and availability.
- Handling incidents, service requests and operational changes.
- Performing OS-level diagnostics, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Designing, improving and maintaining monitoring and alerting solutions.
- Working with metrics collection, log aggregation, dashboards and alerting strategies.
- Improving incident detection and reducing MTTD/MTTR.
- Managing Linux lifecycle activities including patching, provisioning and maintenance.
- Automating operational tasks through scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Integrating automation with monitoring and operational workflows.
- Supporting CI/CD and Git-based workflows for infrastructure deployment.
- Participating in R&D activities around observability and platform reliability.
- Collaborating with infrastructure, security and network teams.
- Participating in planned standby/on-call duties after the training period.
The mission is based in Brussels, with remote work according to the applicable policy and occasional travel to Germany.
