As Research, Development & Innovation Group Manager, you will contribute to our mission every day by leading and structuring a single, coherent RD&I team for BA GEN. You will play a crucial role in bringing clarity and driving delivery and performance across the RD&I landscape by ensuring unified governance, transparent decision-making, strong project discipline, and effective articulation between Strategy, Business Streams, Technical Direction, Métiers, and the Corporate AI Taskforce.

Your key responsibilities
- Manage the RD&I project team for Gas, Energy and Nuclear activities, ensuring coherence across the full portfolio of R&D and innovation activities.
- Lead the definition of a pluriannual RD&I roadmap, aligned with mid- to long-term Strategy and short-term Business objectives.
- Translate the orientations of the roadmap into a prioritized portfolio of RD&I projects; move from ideas / initiatives to structured projects, with clear decision gates, execution discipline, and measurable outcomes .
- Ensure robust gate-keeping of RD&I portfolio, including prioritization, arbitration, and periodic review of choices based on value creation and relevance for the business.
- Act as the main interface with the RD&I Board, Scientific Council, Métiers and Business Streams stakeholders.
- Manage RD&I budgets, monitor and plan workload, provide reporting and visibility to leadership on priorities, progress, risks, and results.
- Help define the appropriate processes, rituals, and management framework to ensure that all RD&I topics are run with the same level of rigor as operational projects, including externally funded projects.
- Ensure each key initiative benefits from strong project leadership, structured follow-up, regular reviews, and clear accountability for deliverables and outcomes.
We would love to hear from people with
- A Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Proven track-record in R&D, innovation, product development in an industrial and/or energy-related
- Strong technical background / technical acumen
- Business acumen, with the ability to connect technical or innovation topics to market needs, competitive differentiation, and value creation
- Leadership experience in managing complex, cross-functional environments involving business, technical, and strategic stakeholders.
- Experience in portfolio management, budget management, and performance tracking.
- Good communication and influencing skills, with the credibility to engage senior leaders, experts, business stakeholders, and external partners
- Fluency in English; French is a strong asset.
- A strategic thinker with a hands-on mindset, able to combine long-term direction with short-term execution.
- A strong integrator who brings clarity, alignment, and momentum in environments that need structure and shared direction.
- A leader who can foster collaboration, and establish objective and transparent decision-making.
- Able to challenge constructively, arbitrate fairly, and maintain focus on value creation for clients and for the business.
- Passionate about innovation, technical excellence, and building differentiating capabilities for the future.
