The Associate role within the Corporate Strategy team will be part of the team that helps shape some of the most important choices for argenx: where we focus, how we prioritize, and how we translate scientific and business opportunities into strategic decisions that can ultimately benefit patients, providing analytical and operational support to the Corporate Strategy and Business Development teams in the assessment of internal and external opportunities. The role supports indication selection, portfolio analysis, market insights generation, competitive intelligence, and business case development across argenx’s early- to late-stage pipeline and broader corporate development priorities.
In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally to gather and synthesize information, execute fit-for-purpose analyses, support strategic discussions, and contribute to recommendations that help shape argenx’s Corporate Strategy and Business Development priorities. You will initially support colleagues across analyses and strategic projects, while rapidly building the ability to take ownership of discrete workstreams, synthesize complex information, and contribute clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas, with a focus on the biotech and pharma sector: investment banking, strategy consulting, venture capital, business development, corporate strategy, competitive intelligence, and/or drug development.
This hybrid role is based in Belgium , reporting to a leader within Corporate Strategy.
Support the development of business cases for internal programs and external opportunities by gathering data, structuring analyses, synthesizing findings, and translating them into clear recommendations
Support portfolio analyses and insight generation to inform strategic prioritization, develop long-term scenario thinking and facilitate executive decision-making
Execute competitive intelligence and landscape assessments for assets, indications, and relevant external opportunities, with a focus on the early-stage pipeline
Help build and maintain AI-powered tools, trackers, and analytical frameworks that support portfolio review, opportunity assessment, and strategic planning processes
Help monitor and track relevant external developments, competitive events, and key strategic signals to inform the organization proactively
Support ad hoc strategic projects as needed across the Corporate Strategy and Business Development teams
High learning agility, intellectual curiosity, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Aptitude to build, incorporate and implement AI-powered toolsets and eagerness to experiment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex questions, work through ambiguity and translate them into clear analyses
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage analyses with accuracy and consistency
Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and contribute to collaborative problem-solving
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to support quantitative and qualitative analyses, including market, portfolio, and competitive assessments
Ability to develop dashboards, presentations, summaries, and materials that clearly communicate findings and recommendations
A sense of urgency and a passion for helping patients and their communities
3–5 years of experience in biotech/pharma through investment banking, strategy consulting, venture capital, business development, corporate strategy, competitive intelligencedrug development, and/or a related function; experience in rare disease, immunology, neurology or adjacent biotech areas is a plusExperience supporting strategic, portfolio, commercial, competitive, and/or business case analyses is preferred
Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree in life sciences, business, or a related discipline is preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AI tools for data analysis, visualization & presentation
Fluent in written and spoken English
Based in Belgium, or willing to relocate

The annual base salary hiring range for this position is €68,000.00 - €93,500.00 EUR



This job is eligible to participate in our short-term and long-term incentives program.
The hiring range displayed above is the range of possible base pay compensation that argenx believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting. The hiring range is based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills. argenx may pay more or less than the posted range and this range may be modified in the future.
