The Manager Tax Reporting & Compliance oversees the direct tax reporting and compliance cycle of the GSK Belgian entities and support the tax director on strategic projects. The role combines technical tax expertise with strong accounting and modelling capabilities, ensuring accurate and timely tax provisions under both IFRS and Belgian statutory frameworks, correct and on-time filing of corporate tax returns and ancillary declarations, and robust management of tax incentives and recent international tax developments such as Pillar 2.
The role is hands-on and deadline-driven, with a particular intensity during the annual close, statutory close and tax returns submission periods.
- Monthly computation of the tax provision for the Belgian entities.
- Quarterly tax prepayment computation , ensuring prepayments are correctly scheduled.
- Annual tax provision computation under both IFRS and Belgian statutory (BE GAAP) rules, including current and deferred tax, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and perform the SOX controls relevant to tax (notably over the tax provision and reporting), ensuring controls are executed on time, properly evidenced and audit-ready.
- Present the tax provision computations to the external auditors and lead the related discussions, explaining the methodology, key judgements and supporting evidence, and resolving queries.
Prepare and coordinate the
- corporate income tax return (including TP forms) for the Belgian entities, working with a third-party supplier for preparation and review support.
Manage the application of- tax incentives , including the innovation income deduction / patent box and the R&D tax credit computation , ensuring claims are correctly computed, documented and defensible. Support with the filing of ruling requests .
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of- Pillar 2 requirements and support the related computations and data gathering for the Belgian entities.
Prepare and submit- other required filings , including fee forms (e.g. fiches / 281 forms), withholding tax declarations and any other recurring or ad-hoc tax declarations.
- Continuously strengthen the Tax Control Framework (TCF) for the Belgian entities, ensuring that all tax processes, controls and key judgements are clearly documented, kept up to date and audit-ready.
Participate in- CTCP meetings .
Provide- support during tax audits .
- Participate in ruling, BAPA and MAP processes , contributing to the preparation of submissions, supporting analysis and coordination with the authorities and advisors.
- Assess the impact of new tax legislation on the Belgian entities, quantifying the effects on provisions, compliance obligations and cash tax, and translating changes into concrete actions for the team and the business.
Drive
- continuous process improvement across the tax reporting and compliance cycle: standardisation, automation, control strengthening and documentation.
Strong
- accounting background, with the ability to read, reconcile and challenge financial data.
Solid- corporate tax knowledge, with practical experience of Belgian tax compliance and reporting.
Proven- tax modeling skills (provision, prepayment, R&D incentives and Pillar 2 computations).
Strong proficiency in- Microsoft Excel is required.
- Hands-on experience with SAP is required.
At least
- 5 years' experience in a similar tax reporting, compliance and advisory role , ideally within a multinational environment, a Big 4 firm, or a combination of both.
