Newrest Group, a global leader in out-of-home catering, is looking for a General Accountant to strengthen its Finance Department.
Reporting to the Deputy CFO Netherlands and the CFO Benelux, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, contributing to financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with legal and tax regulations in both Belgium and the Netherlands.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Recording daily accounting transactions (purchases, sales, bank and financial transactions).
- Managing bank payments and following up with suppliers and customers.
- Preparing monthly VAT returns.
- Performing bank, supplier, and customer account reconciliations.
- Participating in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
- Assisting in the preparation of annual financial statements.
- Monitoring fixed assets and depreciation.
- Collaborating with external auditors and tax authorities.
- Ensuring compliance with Belgian and Dutch accounting standards and tax regulations.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
- Fluent in Dutch (mandatory).
- Good knowledge of Belgian and Dutch accounting standards (BE/NL GAAP) and/or IFRS.
- Good understanding of Belgian and Dutch tax regulations (VAT, Corporate Income Tax, etc.).
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with CEGID, Winrest, or another ERP/accounting system is considered an asset.
