As a Data Engineer at itsme®, you will help build and scale the data platform that sits at the heart of our organization — the single source of truth that every other team relies on. You will design the pipelines that move data from our source systems into a robust, well-modelled platform, and lay the groundwork for advanced capabilities. Working at the center of the Technology department, you will turn raw data into a reliable, governed asset that powers reporting, security, fraud detection and product decisions across the company.

Design, build, and maintain robust data ingestion pipelines that bring data from diverse source systems into our central platform.

Develop and operate batch and streaming pipelines, using modern cloud solutions like Databricks or Snowflake.

Migrate and modernize existing reporting workloads from our current Azure Synapse setup onto the new platform.

Implement data quality, monitoring, and observability so that pipelines are reliable, testable, and trustworthy.

Leverage a state of the art data platform to support advanced use cases such as fraud signals, behavioural insights, and machine learning.

Apply solid engineering practices: version control, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and clear documentation.

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field.

Minimum 3–4 years of professional experience as a data engineer or in a closely related role, preferably in the software industry.

Strong programming skills in Python, PySpark and SQL, with experience building production-grade data pipelines.

Hands-on experience with a modern cloud data platform, experience with Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric (or comparable tools such as Azure DF, Synapse, Snowflake,) is a strong plus.

Solid understanding of data modelling concepts (dimensional modelling, data vault, or similar) and the principles of a well-governed enterprise data model.

Experience with both batch and streaming data processing; familiarity with event streaming technologies (e.g. Kafka, Spark Structured Streaming).

Comfortable with software engineering best practices: Git, CI/CD (Github), testing, and infrastructure-as-code.

Familiarity with data governance, security, and privacy considerations, especially relevant in a digital identity or financial industry context.

Experience with Power BI or other BI tooling is a plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a hybrid or remote setup.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills in an international, multi-disciplinary environment.
