‘I specialize in using AI to derive actionable, predictive insights from complex data.’
As a Data Scientist at vectr.consulting, you will play a crucial role in helping our clients derive value from their data. You will be responsible for the end-to-end process of data and AI projects, from understanding the business question to implementing and monitoring models. You combine classical ML with frontier-model GenAI workflows and treat AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor) as part of your everyday toolkit. Your ability to connect with clients and colleagues in person will be key to your success.
You will collaborate with a dynamic team to manage complex data, develop predictive models, and lead the implementation of innovative big data solutions.
- Identifying business opportunities where data science and GenAI can add value, in close collaboration with the client.
- Collecting, cleaning, and transforming large, complex datasets from various sources.
- Performing exploratory data analyses to discover patterns and insights, and developing and training both classical ML and LLM-based models.
- Designing, building, and evaluating RAG and agentic workflows (LangChain / LangGraph, LlamaIndex) with rigorous eval-driven development.
- Implementing models into the client’s operational processes, ensuring their monitoring (e.g. MLflow 3), and clearly communicating results to stakeholders.
- Actively contributing to knowledge development within the company by staying up-to-date with the latest developments in data science and GenAI.
As a Data Scientist, you bring a combination of technical expertise and strategic thinking.
- You have a Master’s or PhD degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Physics) and multiple years of relevant work experience as a Data Scientist, preferably with client-facing projects.
- A high level of proficiency in written and spoken Dutch is required.
- You have demonstrable experience with Python and its associated data science libraries, as well as with SQL.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent), frontier LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini), and RAG/agentic frameworks (LangChain/LangGraph or LlamaIndex) is a must-have. Experience with LLM evaluation, prompt engineering, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) is expected.
- Experience with data visualization tools and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- You are capable of analyzing complex problems and translating them into concrete, data-driven solutions, and are a proactive team player with a hands-on mentality who values face-to-face interaction.
We provide a dynamic and supportive work environment where you can make a real impact. You will join a passionate, forward-thinking, and expert team of data scientists, AI/ML data engineers and architects who value knowledge sharing and growing together. You will:
- Lead High-Impact Projects: Drive data-driven transformations for top clients using a modern, AI-augmented tech stack, enabling advanced AI solutions and pushing the boundaries of innovation.
- Thrive in a Collaborative Culture: Join a supportive, collegial team that values on-site collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and regular team-building activities.
- Accelerate Your Growth: Benefit from a competitive salary package, continuous learning opportunities, and dedicated support for professional development through training and certifications, including frontier-model and agentic workflow skills.
