Cyborn is looking for a senior set dresser who knows every in and out of set dressing, shaders and lighting in Unreal Engine. You will turn our environments into living, atmospheric spaces, crafting lighting that hits a filmic quality bar within the strict performance budget of standalone VR.
What will you do
- You will dress environments in Unreal Engine: composition, storytelling through props, readability and gameplay-supporting detail.
- You will author and optimize shaders and materials for environments in close collaboration with tech art.
- You will set up and iterate environment lighting using traditional baked lighting workflows (this project does not use Nanite/Lumen), balancing mood and atmosphere against hard performance budgets.
- You will collaborate with level design and the art team to bring blockouts to visual quality while safeguarding gameplay clarity and framerate.
- You communicate daily with the production manager.
What we expect of you
- You have several years of professional experience in environment art or set dressing and have shipped at least one title, preferably in the action-adventure genre.
- You have deep knowledge of Unreal Engine set dressing, material/shader authoring and lighting workflows.
- You have hands-on experience with baked lighting: lightmaps, lightmap UVs and static/stationary light setups (strong plus).
- You have VR experience and understand what scale, contrast and detail density feel like in-headset (strong plus).
- You are able to model and adapt assets yourself when required (great plus).
- You know how to work with source control.
- You have a great attention for detail.
- You have a positive work drive and can work efficiently towards tight deadlines.
- You are willing to work on location in Antwerp, Belgium.
