As Senior Project Manager, you will actas liaison between the client and 3rd party suppliers. You will be responsiblefor the delivery of a variety of mechanical and utilities projects of moderateto advanced complexity, value between $10,000 and $15,000,000. Key projectdelivery focus areas include safety stewardship, scope, budget, schedule, andquality & risk management.
Under minimal supervision, acts asclient representative for all aspects of assigned engineering and constructionprojects and responsible for delivery of those projects to the customer. Mustwork as a liaison between customer’s departments and 3rd party suppliers toensure the incorporation and communication of all aspects affecting thesuccessful delivery of the project.
Projects will vary in size and scope andtherefore the Project Manager is expected to develop and deliver a variety ofprojects at any one time. This position represents the client’s best interestat all times, therefore a good understanding of the client’s business issues isrequired. These issues include industrial environments, validation,commissioning, and safety. Works with our customers to develop and deliver aproject which best suits their needs, with an emphasis on timely projectdelivery. Typically manages projects of moderate to advanced complexity, riskand exposure between $10,000 and $15,000,000 in total cost to the client.
Key Responsibilities
Identify andgenerate project opportunities from within a set portfolio of maintenancecontracts.
Liaise withkey stakeholders on their requirements and explain feasibility of their schemesto become a trusted advisor.
Work withdevelopers, designers and sub-contractors to define and document scope(s) ofwork(s).
Develop andunderstand the full scope of works in line with the desired project businesscase and in turn outcome. This is to be within agreed budget requirements andrequired profit margins.
Manage, runand draw up tenders on behalf of the customer as required. Carry out fulltender
Analysis ofall sub-contractor returns.
Identify,reduce and manage all statutory and commercial risks associated with theproject they are leading.
Ensure thecustomers QHSE practices and processes are fully embedded in each project.
Ensure fullcompliance with project management policies and procedures.
Manage theday-to-day operational aspects of the project(s) “end to end”. Activities toinclude but not be limited to estimating, business development, quantitysurveying, sub-contractor management and site manager duties.
Work closelywith relevant stake holders to ensure effective and efficient implementation ofthe project(s).
Ensurecustomer acceptance is adhered to, in writing and in line with the projectplans.
Mutually agreepayment schedules and applications for payment to the benefit of the projectand the business.
Ensuresproject documents are complete, current and appropriately stored.
Providetimely monthly reports to the Project Development Manager in an agreed format.
Requirements
CivilEngineer (architect) or Industrial Engineer
Minimum 5years’ experience of successfully delivering projects in a technical, FM,construction or critical environment
Recognisedqualification in Project Management
Fluent inDutch, and English (orally and written)
Broadunderstanding of construction Health and Safety law and legislation
Experienceand skills in understanding, developing and maintaining client relationships
Analyticallyminded with strong financial and numerical skills
Strongpresentation skills and proven ability to secure new business
Ability todeliver to deadlines
Proficient incommon application software (Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Experience inoil and gas or similar industry with intensive safety programs is considered aplus
