Performs journeyman-level plumbing installation and maintenance for potable and wastewater systems. Installs and repairs piping, pumps, and fixtures; performs testing for leaks, flow, and backflow; and ensures code compliance per IPC/UPC and LOGCAP V requirements. Reads complex drawings, diagnoses system failures, and mentors junior staff. Complete other duties as assigned
Responsibilities:

Correctly and efficiently completes installation, modification and repairs of various plumbing systems and equipment, e.g., replaces defective pipes, fittings, fixtures, and valves.

Accurately tests completed work for proper drainage, flow and venting

Properly measures, fabricates and installs odd size adjoining parts and/or improvises installations when blueprints and sketches do not provide sufficient Information.

Properly uses, maintains, and accounts for all types of hand and/or power tools as required, to accomplish assigned duties.

Skill in the use of any of the accepted trade methods and techniques, such as wiping and pouring lead joints, seating equipment, and installing any combinations of couplings, unions, and joint need for proper operation of the systems.

Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fitting using coupling, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.

Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks

Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines.

Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves and water heaters and fixtures such as sinks and toilets, using hand and power tools

Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fitting equipment to join plumbing to fixtures

Be able to perform on call duties after normal duty hours and on weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Journeyman-level plumbing experience or equivalent
-
Demonstrated leadership ability

Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:
-
Evidence of completion of trade school and/or a minimum of Four (4) years of apprenticeship training preferred.

Experience:
-
A minimum of six to seven (6-7) years plumbing and/or mechanical-pipefitting systems experience,

Certificates

OSHA 30 Construction (required within 90 days of hire)

Advanced LOTO training (required within 90 days of hire)

Confined Space entry training (required within 90 days of hire)
-
First Aid / CPR (required within 90 days of hire)

Journeyman plumbing license (Preferred)

Backflow prevention certification (Preferred)

Water distribution certification (Preferred)

Skills:

Ability to work extended periods of times, shift work, and on-call.

Able to plan, order material and coordinate work with Supervisors and customers.

Working Conditions:

Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very

adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 85 degrees in the summer months).

Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

Physical Requirements:
