- As a teaching assistant, you will devote at least 50% of your assignment to scientific research in preparation for a doctoral dissertation. This research should align with the research lines of CSI-UGent (see www.ugent.be/eb/mio/csi/en). You will conduct this research in collaboration with the research team and international top experts in the field.
- You will assist in the teaching activities of the department, specifically in the courses taught by CSI-UGent members at the Faculty of Economics & Business Administration and the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences. More specifically, you will supervise large groups of bachelor’s and master’s students in English- and/or Dutch language assignments and master’s theses.
- You will contribute to the internal and external services of the department.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You have an interest in academic and/or project-based research and intend to pursue a PhD in the field of service innovation for a healthy, digitalized, and/or circular world.
- You possess strong research skills and/or are eager to further develop them.
- You have good communication, social, and didactic skills.
- You are quality-oriented, take initiative, and can work independently.
- You hold a master's degree in (applied) economics, business engineering, business studies, management, psychology, pedagogical sciences, sociology, communication sciences, or another related field deemed relevant by the selection committee. The diploma requirements must be met by the time of appointment.
- A high academic distinction is considered an asset.
- For diplomas obtained outside the European Union, a recognition certificate from NARIC must be submitted. The diploma requirements must be met by the time of appointment.
- You are able to supervise course components in Dutch and/or English (or are willing to acquire this ability in the short term).
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
- We offer you a two-year appointment, which may be renewed twice for two years, on condition that the previous term was given a positive evaluation. Attention: If you have been previously appointed as a junior assistant or doctoral fellow at a university within the Flemish Community, this appointment will be deducted from the maximum term of appointment, which is six years at the most according to the Codex of Higher Education.
- Your appointment will start on 15 October 2026 at the earliest.
