We are currently looking for an Mechanical Engineer - Package Owner to join our team in Nivelles, Belgium.
What is the role about?
As an Mechanical Package Owner, you will be responsible for the technical coordination and delivery of Mechanical packages throughout the different project phases, from design and procurement to construction, commissioning and final handover.
You will act as the main technical point of contact for the assigned Mechanical packages, coordinating internal multidisciplinary engineering teams.
As an Mechanical Package Owner, your responsibilities will include:
Take full ownership of the assigned mechanical package from concept design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and final handover.- Prepare and review mechanical specifications, equipment datasheets, P&IDs, layouts, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Perform or review equipment sizing, pressure-drop calculations, material selection, and technical evaluations.
- Prepare technical RFQ documentation and participate in the evaluation of suppliers’ proposals.
- Review vendor drawings and documentation and follow up on technical comments and pending actions.
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and Multidisciplinary teams.
- Monitor the technical progress, schedule, quality, risks, and changes related to the assigned package.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, and safety requirements.
- Support construction teams and help resolve technical issues during installation.
- Participate in inspections, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and final handover activities.
- Report package progress, technical risks, and potential deviations to the Project Manager
- Master’s degree in mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in industrial and/or construction as mechanical engineer.
- Experience coordinating Mechanical work with other engineering disciplines, suppliers and contractors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Fluency in Dutch and English.
- Willingness to travel to project and client sites, with a valid driving license.
- Permanent contract.
