About the Position
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate in Cellular and Biochemical Assays to join our multidisciplinary Drug Discovery team. You will work alongside experienced cell biologists and biochemists supporting innovative early-stage drug discovery programs focused on neurology and inflammatory diseases.
In this laboratory-based role, you will develop, optimize, and execute cellular and biochemical assays to characterize novel therapeutic targets and investigate drug–target interactions. You will generate high-quality data to support project decisions and advance drug discovery programs.
Key Responsibilities
Cellular and Biochemical Assay Development
- Design, develop, optimize, and execute a broad range of cellular and biochemical assays to support drug discovery projects.
- Perform routine and complex laboratory experiments independently, while adhering to established protocols and scientific objectives.
- Contribute to assay validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including automated and robotic platforms
- Ensure experimental work is conducted according to laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Data Analysis and Scientific Reporting
- Analyze experimental results using appropriate software and statistical approaches.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive laboratory records.
- Prepare high-quality reports, summaries, and presentations of experimental findings.
- Communicate results and scientific observations effectively to project teams.
Laboratory and Team Contribution
- Collaborate closely with scientists and research associates across multidisciplinary project teams.
- Support knowledge sharing and contribute to a collaborative scientific environment.
- Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, methodologies, and workflows.
- Maintain laboratory organization and contribute to the efficient operation of the research group.
Candidate Profile
Education and Experience
- Master degree in Life Sciences, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, In Vitro Pharmacology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or CRO industry is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Extensive practical experience in mammalian cell culture.
- Hands-on expertise with cellular and biochemical assay technologies, including fluorescence and luminescence-based assays (HTRF, FRET, BRET, FLIPR assays, gene reporter assays).
- Solid understanding of in vitro pharmacology, including the biology of enzymes, receptors, transporters, and ion channels.
- Experience with laboratory automation and robotic platforms is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in data analysis and scientific reporting.
