The Electrification Alliance is seeking a Junior Communications and Events Officer to support its day-to-day communication and event activities. Working closely with the Director, the Senior Policy Officer, and member organisations, you will contribute to the implementation of the Alliance’s communication activities and help strengthen its visibility in the EU policy landscape through events.
SolarPower Europe is a member-led association representing the European solar PV sector. SolarPower Europe’s aim is to ensure that more energy is generated by solar than any other energy source by 2030 and lead our members to make solar the core of a smart, sustainable and inclusive energy system. We are an award-winning association and have over 300 members spanning 35 countries. We aim to produce thought-leading energy market analysis and support the business of our members through creative and successful advocacy campaigns.
The Electrification Alliance is hosted by SolarPower Europe and works closely with the association to advance the electrification agenda in Europe. The Electrification Alliance brings together leading organisations committed to accelerating the shift towards an electrified, decarbonised, and sustainable energy system in Europe. They engage with policymakers, stakeholders, and the public to promote electrification as the backbone of a climate-neutral economy. As part of this collaboration, the candidate will join a small and dynamic team working at the heart of EU energy policy debates. This role offers hands-on exposure to EU-level advocacy and communications, close interaction with leading organisations, and the opportunity to contribute to impactful initiatives supporting Europe’s transition to a climate-neutral future.
The Electrification Alliance is seeking a Junior Communications and Events Officer to support its day-to-day communication and event activities. Working closely with the Director, the Senior Policy Officer, and member organisations, you will contribute to the implementation of the Alliance’s communication activities and help strengthen its visibility in the EU policy landscape through events.
Communications
- Help shape the Alliance's communication and campaign strategy, from brainstorming to execution.
- Draft, edit and disseminate materials such as one-pagers, press releases, fact sheets, presentations and the monthly newsletter.
- Plan, post and draft content for social media.
- Lead on video editing, filming and multimedia content
Events & campaigns
- Help plan and run events and campaigns directed to EU policymakers and stakeholders, including policy debates and forums, high level events and media activities.
- Reach out to and manage relationships with EU institutions, fellow associations and think tanks.
- Contribute to multi-partner advocacy campaigns run in collaboration with external consultants and coalition partners.
Coordination & collaboration
- Help organise and coordinate the Communication Working Group meetings of the Alliance.
- Keep communication running smoothly between members, the Policy Working Group and the Communications Working Group.
- Work closely with policy and communication teams from member organisations to stay aligned.
- Liaise with external partners, consultants, and service providers as needed.
The ideal candidate has the following professional profile:
- University degree in communications, political science, international affairs, public policy, EU studies, or a related field.
- First relevant professional experience or traineeship in Communications, or EU policy and advocacy, ideally in the energy or climate field.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English (additional EU languages are an asset).
- Proactive, organised, and comfortable juggling multiple projects at once.
- Creative with an eye for clear, compelling content.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ease operating in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
