As a Field Application Engineer, you will be at the crossroads of technology, customer needs and innovation.
Your role is not simply to answer technical questions. You will work alongside customers to understand their operational challenges, challenge assumptions, identify the real problem to solve and design the most relevant solution.
You will collaborate with engineering teams across the CE+T Group and play an active role in bringing new applications and technologies to market.

Role mission
As Field Application Engineer, your mission is to understand customer operational needs, translate them into technical requirements and design the most relevant solution using RIPE's technologies and expertise.
You will act as the bridge between customers, engineering teams and business stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions are technically sound, commercially relevant and deliver long-term value.
Responsabilities
1. Customer Discovery & Technical Qualification
- Lead technical discussions with customers and end-users.
- Understand operational environments, integration constraints and mission requirements.
- Identify root causes behind technical challenges and structure customer needs.
- Build trust and credibility through technical expertise.
- Facilitate workshops, technical reviews and customer meetings.
2. Solution Design & Technical Proposal Development
- Design power conversion architectures and energy solutions adapted to customer requirements.
- Analyse charging systems, onboard loads and electrical interfaces.
- Evaluate compliance with defence-related standards and environmental constraints.
- Define customisation needs, associated risks and implementation efforts.
- Contribute to technical proposals and customer presentations.
3. Technical Coordination & Project Support
- Act as the interface between customers and engineering teams.
- Translate customer expectations into clear technical requirements.
- Support development, validation and integration activities.
- Ensure alignment between customer needs and product capabilities.
- Contribute to the evolution of product offerings through market feedback.
4. Business & Financial Contribution
- Assess the technical and financial impact of customer requests.
- Support solution optimisation according to budget constraints.
- Contribute to project profitability through pragmatic technical choices.
- Participate in opportunity qualification and strategic decision-making.
Your Profile
1. Experience
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- Previous experience in industrial electrical systems, power electronics or energy conversion solutions.
- Experience in customer-facing technical roles within defence, aerospace, rail, naval or other highly regulated environments is a strong asset.
2. Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and power conversion technologies.
- Good understanding of system integration and electrical architectures.
- Knowledge of power electronics is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with defence standards (MIL-STD, STANAG, NATO standards) is a plus.
- Ability to balance technical performance, risk and customer constraints.
