Location: Brugge, BE
As a field engineer you are responsible for the start-up of all test machines, both during the test phase in the workshop in Bruges and at customer sites. Your responsibilities are varied, but the emphasis is mainly on the automation part (PLC and PC). During machine start-up your tasks include the installation and configuration of the PLC and computer hardware, as well as testing and debugging the attached programmes.
You are responsible for performing the various entry checks, quality tests and repeatability tests of the machines. You complete the compliant checklists and prepare corresponding reports. You take care of the necessary documentation during the machine buy-offs.
You analyse and summarize technical problems, in dialogue with the customer. Based on your practical experience, you inform the engineering and project management departments about problems and make improvement proposals. You participate in the development, realisation and implementation of changes to the machine and actively participate in the meetings to share your improvement propositions.
You are responsible for training both the operators and the maintenance staff of our customers on-site; you prepare the necessary training documents.
You provide first-line support to customers and prepare reports after interventions, trainings and assistance. You are also responsible for preparing intervention kits in collaboration with the customer service department.
Lastly, you perform impartial and confidential measurements in customer labs under the lab’s authority and in accordance with ISO 17025 and ISO 9001.
