Broederlijk Delen is a Belgian international solidarity NGO working towards a sustainable, just, and inequality-free world. Through its five-year programs, Broederlijk Delen supports partner organizations and local communities in building sustainable and inclusive alternatives.
In the Democratic Republic of Congo, Broederlijk Delen's program is primarily focused on promoting sustainable food systems, particularly through the development of agroecological practices, youth and women's entrepreneurship, access to and securing of land rights through Local Community Forest Concessions (LCFCs), and strengthening the voice and political participation of local communities.
The current program is being implemented in two territories of Kwilu province for the period 2022-2026, with the support of four partners: INADES-Formation Congo , FOPAKKM , CRONGD Bandundu and CDJP Kikwit . These partners in turn support 12 farmers' unions, bringing together a total of 1-36 grassroots farmers' organizations (GFOs).
For Broederlijk Delen, gender justice is an essential dimension of social justice and sustainable change. It is not only about promoting women's participation, but also about questioning and transforming, where necessary, social norms, power relations, roles and responsibilities, as well as access to and control of resources and decision-making spaces that can generate or reinforce inequalities between women and men.
As part of the 2017-2021 program, an initial gender strategy was developed for Broederlijk Delen's program in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Several actions aimed at strengthening gender equity and justice have since been implemented. With the 2022-2026 program nearing its end and the new 2027-2031 program being prepared, it is timely to draw lessons from this experience and update the gender approach of Broederlijk Delen's partners in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Cette démarche devra permettre d'analyser les progrès réalisés, mais également les changements qui restent nécessaires, tant au niveau des partenaires qu'au niveau des unions et des organisations paysannes accompagnées. Elle devra notamment permettre de mieux comprendre les facteurs qui favorisent ou limitent la participation, l'autonomisation et le pouvoir d'agir des femmes, ainsi que les obstacles à une transformation durable des rapports de genre.
Broederlijk Delen souhaite donc recruter un.e consultant.e afin de réaliser une analyse de la situation et des pratiques en matière de genre, de capitaliser les acquis et les apprentissages du programme précédent, d'identifier les défis et priorités pour le prochain programme et, sur cette base, de développer une stratégie genre pour la période 2027-2031, ainsi qu'un plan d'action opérationnel.
