Within Telenet group, the position is specifically dedicated to our commercial brand Telenet.
At Telenet, we build strong digital entertainment experiences for our customers. Think of TV platforms, streaming and applications. To guarantee quality, we are looking for an Entertainment Engineer with a strong focus on testing and trialing to ensure quality control. You will work in a technical environment with different teams and experts (technical and business oriented). Your goal is simple: ensure our products are stable, reliable and ready before they go live. You will work on products such as Set-top box’s, IOS, Android and Web applications, and all related backends and supporting applications. You will make sure product defects are detected early and efficiently through testing and trialing before operational handover.
Your role as Entertainment Engineer
As Entertainment Engineer, you ensure our entertainment products reach the highest standards before their release. You will collaborate closely with different delivering parties, to triage and prioritize deviations and defects. You will assess proposed solutions on both technical fit and feasibility, align with business partners, and validate the solutions when delivered.
- You plan and execute tests for STBs, iOS, Android, web applications and backend systems. This will be for new & existing products and applications.
- You perform tests in lab and pre-production environments (functional, performance and reliability)
- You analyse test/trial results, detect issues and identify root causes. You will suggest suitable corrective and preventive measures in response
- Gather clear test evidence, so development teams can act quickly
- Develop requirements to increase efficiency and effectiveness in your day-to-day activities, by collaborating with several partners, some of whom deliver the tools for your daily activities
- You continuously improve testing processes, tools and methods. You will also focus on incorporating AI or other technologies, concepts or processes in the domain of Quality Control
Ensure a smooth handover to operations after quality control and support issue resolution in the field

Your profile as Entertainment Engineer
You are analytical, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a complex technical environment.
- You have a degree in IT, computer science or equivalent experience
- You have professional experience in testing, quality control or trialing within a manufacturing or product development environment
- You have solid knowledge of testing methods and quality processes
- You are familiar with TV/video technologies (e.g. STB, video streaming, DRM, CDN)
- You work in an organised way and have strong attention to detail
- You communicate clearly in English (Dutch is a plus)
- Knowledge of microservice-based architectures, communication protocols, network infrastructure, and front-end tooling. You also have experience with both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP)
- You are familiar with tools/frameworks for:
- Test automation: Appium, Playwright
- Test and defect management: Xray, JIRA
Monitoring and visualizing metrics and telemetry data: Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Grafana, InfluxDB
